Top 5 Tips for Scrapbooking

19 02 2008

Here are the top 5 tips for Scrapbooking

1. Determine your purpose for scrapbooking. Is it for archiving old photos and memorabilias, to make a present for someone special or to use as a journal for your most recent photos or experiences? Your purpose will set your scrapbooking choices, styles and techniques.

2. Pick a mode of scrapbooking. Paper or Digital. Paper is the traditional way of scrapbooking. Here you use albums, stickers and embellishments. Nowadays, digital scrapbooking is available to those who are comfortable using the computer. You can have the same look as paper scrapbooking, but without the mess.

3. Focus on your photos. Remember that you are scrapbooking that photo, not using that photo as an embellishment to your page. Some people over decorate their pages and you can barely see the photo in it. Make a balance.

4. Make your pages personal. Add journaling, thoughts and sentiments on each page. Remember, your scrapbook is your project. Make it your own. It doesn’t matter what embellishments you use or not, this is your chance to be creative, in your own way.

5. Share your scrapbook pages and have fun. You can get scrapbooking albums for your paper scrapbook pages. Or if you like digital scrapbooking, you can use sites like Winkflash or Shutterfly to print your pages for you and send you a hard bound print of your work. Show off your work and be proud of your accomplishment.
