I’m so excited! I received an email from Creating Keepsakes. There’s gonna be an actual Scrapbook Convention in town! Imagine that! It’s gonna be at the Pasadena Convention Center on June 11-13, 2009. I hope I can get the day off so I can attend! Or it’s across the street from my work, maybe I can run every lunch time and during break….woohoo!

Photo Mosaic
13 08 2008I’d like to thank Sara for inspiring me to work on this today. She posted something she worked on illustrator and I figured, I should brush up on my photoshop skills as well. I’ve used Flickr Toys before, but it’s nice to learn how to do things from scratch. This way, I can manipulate the image any way I want to.

Button Pencils
7 05 2008I didn’t realize how being a mommy of two can take so much of my time. I’ve managed to work on a little project this afternoon while the little one was asleep.
I made a pair of button pencils. They’re stackable pencils that I wrapped in embroidery floss, then I stringed some buttons and finished off with a small piece of ribbon.
I’m thinking of participating in a Scrapbook Blog party and donating some handmade prizes. Maybe I can even host my own giveaway here. Come back soon and see what I’ve come up with.

Butter Cream Recipe
4 04 2008I like this buttercream recipe they featured on Martha today….
Ingredients
Makes enough for 15 cupcakes
* 2 cups sugar
* 1 cup egg whites (about 6 large)
* 1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
* 16 ounces dark chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
Directions
1. Place sugar and egg whites in the bowl of an electric mixer set over (but not touching) a pan of simmering water. Whisk constantly until mixture is heated and sugar is dissolved. Attach bowl to an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment and continue whisking until cooled and stiff peaks form, about 7 minutes.
2. With the mixer running, add butter, one piece at a time, until completely incorporated. Continue whisking until a light, fluffy cream has formed. Stir in chocolate until well combined.

Shopping 6/3/2007
4 06 2007Today was actually a productive shopping day….
I’ve been wanting a really good Rotary Paper Trimmer, since my old one (Carl DC100) broke…and i’ve spent so much money on buying some other ones to replace it, which turned out crappy… =( I looked for the Carl Trimmer for a long time, but i was disappointed to find out they stopped making them…
Yes, I found them, again… at Staples.
Much cheaper than the fiskars brand they sell at Michael’s or Joann’s…
and much better too…
I was so pleased.
Also, at Joann’s, I was able to go ribbon shopping…
I got all these for $30 dollars…
